A Vibrant Life of Love | Jackie + Harry
The bride and groom originally met when Jackie accidentally left the lights on in her car outside her house and Harry crossed the street to let her know; the two had been neighbors who lived directly across from each other for five years without having ever met! Since that fateful evening, they have been the best of friends. One of their favorite mutual hobbies is scuba diving and so while vacationing in Maui, Harry took Jackie out for a dive and deep among the fish and vibrant coral he proposed.
From the start, the couple knew that a destination wedding was the only option for them and with Hawaii holding such a special place in their hearts how could they pick anywhere else? Knowing they needed some help with the details, they quickly joined ranks with the Moana Events Team and got to work planning a wedding of their dreams. Both Jackie and Harry have a love for eccentricity and style and worked with Moana Events to design an event focused on lush textures, vibrant colors, and touches of vintage elegance. Their wedding invitations are a perfect example of this as they were custom laser cut cards of wood that held soft bright moss poking out of the open letters.
The two were married beachside under the bows of an old tree whose trunk acted as a natural frame and was designed by the Moana Events team with a waterfall of coral, marsala, and blush florals. The blossoms include king protea, ranunculus, and hydrangea. Guests were seated on live edge wooden benches and as the bride approached, she walked down an aisle of ombre pink rose petals wearing an elegantly beaded gown and 1920s-style rhinestone headpiece. Her bouquet was to die for and particularly designed with bright peonies, roses, and chrysanthemum interspersed with tendrils of greenery to give it a more casual and fun aspect.
From the ceremony, the guests transitioned to an intimate reception. The reception was held in a hall where a single large banquet table was decorated with elaborate overhead florals and linens in hues of coral, blush, and sangria and accented by deep purple magenta. Guests enjoyed cocktails from antique style glasses and their meal was paired with vintage gold cutlery. To contrast with the table decor, modern acrylic chairs were custom printed with Hawaiian elements such as pineapples, sparrows, and palms. After a delicious meal and romantic first dance as a married couple, the rest of the party joined them on the dance floor, swinging and swaying the rest of the night away.
